My 15 month old daughter recently received the following results from a brain MRI. Could you help us interpret? Mild degree of the volume loss of both the gray and white matter in the supratentorial cerebral hemispheres with prominent overlying subarachnoid spaces and secondary dilatation of the frontal horns left more than right. Explanation could be delayed motility of the ventricular system.
1. Mild degree of volume loss / atrophic changes - seen in case of dismyelination disorders or any systemic causes. 2.The subarachnoid spaces seen prominent ( its seen in volume loss cases) 3.Ventricles / frontal horns seen dilated - seen when there is distal obstruction. 4.Its delayed motility ventricular system.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
